Our client engaged Abco to carry out pressure jet washing to the external surfaces of the London headquarters of Anglo American plc in central London. This building is predominantly clad in Portland stone requiring careful testing of results ahead of full scale cleaning. Works were required to be carried out at weekends only with controlled/policed exclusion zones below the working areas.
The works were required to be undertaken using standard commercial cold water pressure washing techniques. Cleaning chemicals and suspensions were not to be used on this sensitive site. Careful experimentation was carried out with agitation of heavily soiled areas using hand held brushes which proved successful.
